During Spring Break, I was a lot more productive than I thought I would be. A few days before Spring Break, I was looking forward to doing absolutely nothing and just relaxing the whole week. However, once Spring Break started, I started to feel like I was wasting such precious and valuable time by just relaxing. I took maybe one or two days to cool down from school and everything going on in the world, but after that I was busier than school days. I woke up earlier than school days, and I slept later than I usually do on school days. I created a strict schedule in the beginning of break to maximize my productivity, while also being able to actually enjoy the time off. I would do yoga and conditioning in the morning, study/catch up on classes until around 3/4pm, then I would train for soccer until dinner time. After dinner I would workout or do strength training, and then would stretch and take care of my body so I can repeat the same intense training the next day. Because I was on top of my tasks and schedule, as I look back I really think that Spring Break this year made me a better soccer player and better at time management. I didn’t just train and study though, I had a life too. After my workouts or at night time I would hangout with my friends or family, sometimes I would play games with them and other times I would watch movies or TV shows with them. Some days I also trained with my friends or teammates, so those days training was 10 times more fun. I’m happy that I was able to see/hangout with my friends over break even during these times, and that I wasn’t just training and studying or doing everything alone. Finally, I was able to eat some good food too. My family is friends with a few players on the Washington Spirit Women’s soccer team because we are all from Japan, so they brought food and ingredients from Japan to our house and we had a party (I actually cooked). Overall, this Spring Break I was able to work on both of my strengths and weaknesses, and I was also able to learn and try new things such as cooking and playing guitar, so I really enjoyed the break and I think I made the most out of the situation.
